Zoe Saldaña recently joined Variety’s Tiana DeNicola for a game of “Know Their Lines” and transmited a bit of lament over not brimmingy benevolent Gamora’s arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while she was filming “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame” with the Russo Brothers.
“I want I could go back and reshoot what Gamora was going thcimpolite in the ‘Avengers’ movies,” Saldaña shelp. “I was not quite benevolent what the Russo Brothers [were doing]. They’re excellent filmproducers and the opportunity they gave me was of a lifetime. To highairy Gamora in such a way in their films is someslfinisherg I’ll always be appreciative. I want I could go back and redo it so I could push a little challenginger becainclude it was such a fantastic opportunity to take part a daughter having rehires with a dad and whether or not she’s having this opportunity to reconciliate or to srecommend equitable walk away. That would’ve been a fantastic opportunity had I been a little more conscious of it then.”
Saldaña joined the MCU as Gamora in James Gunn’s 2014 tentpole “Guardians of the Galaxy.” She repascfinishd the character in two “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequels and the “Avengers” films.
“I understand it’s a Marvel movie, and we don’t enjoy to include words enjoy ‘beginant’ and ‘Marvel’ in the same sentence, but I enjoy to, and I apshow fantastic pride in understanding that I was a part of fantastic films that cater to a youthfuler audience and that advertises a youthfuler audience,” Saldaña shelp about joining Marvel.
“What [James Gunn] was doing was someslfinisherg reassociate exceptional,” she inserted. “We were presumed to be these declines that came with childhood traumas and disabilities and mental rehires. He gave these characters space to be cherishd and to discover a family wislfinisher their friendship. It was a reassociate vital film now that I see back on it.”
Saldaña does not see herself going back to Marvel after 2023’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” but she does see a path forward for a new iteration of Gamora on the huge screen.
“Let it be a brown girl to take part Gamora,” Saldaña shelp in her Variety cover story. “Give that opportunity to a woman of color and see what the new Gamora is going to transport to the table. Like I bcimpolitet [‘Star Trek’s’] Nyota Uhura to the table with Nichelle Nichols’ sanctifying.”
