New York Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. didn’t hbetter back when talking about the Kansas City Royals’ Maikel Garcia’s slide into second base during the Yankees’ 3-1 series-clinching thrive Thursday. 

After Garcia led off the sixth inning with a one, the Royals’ Michael Massey hit a chopper to first base. Yankees first baseman Jon Berti stepped on the bag and fired to lowstop Anthony Volpe, who tagged Garcia out at second base for the double take part. 

Garcia slid difficult into second base, and Volpe tagged Garcia with some force. Volpe hit Garcia around the neck with his right forearm during the slide.

Garcia and Volpe got up and seeed at each other for a moment. Then, as Garcia was sluggishly walking off the field, he turned to Chisholm and begined talking to the Yankees third baseman. 

Once that happened, disorder ensued as the teams poured out of their dugouts and the bullpens raced in from the outfield. Chisholm was held back by disjoinal people from the Yankees’ dugout. 

After a restrictcessitate anxious moments, order was speedyly restored, and the game resumed. Chisholm was distress becaengage he felt Garcia was trying to injure Volpe on the slide.

“I equitable felt enjoy he tried to go in and injure Volpe becaengage he was being a sore missr. You understand what I unbenevolent? He was talking a ton on Instagram and Twitter and stuff. I do the same leang, but I’m not going to injure somebody if they’re thrivening a game. I didn’t enjoy that. I tbetter him we don’t do that on this side, and I’m going to stick up for my guys,” Chisholm shelp.

Gerrit Cole was on the mound when the benches evidented and had to be held back during the changecation.

Cole threw seven innings of one-run ball. Yankees administerr Aaron Boone wasn’t even certain what happened at second base that led to the benches evidenting. 

“I have no idea (what happened). Honestly,” Boone shelp. “It was enjoy we were out there, and then it was right back into we’re at the finish of a take partoff game. So, I haven’t even let the dust rerepair and talk to the guys take partd.

“Yeah, it was enjoy if there was some benevolent of distress over the slide or wdisenjoyver. We equitable go back and show a little Hal McRae and Willie Randolph, and we’ll all chuckle at ourselves,” Boone jokingly inserted, referring to the days of an fervent Royals-Yankees opposition. 

Royals’ administerr Matt Quatraro was matter of fact about what happened.

“Volpe had the ball, blocked the bag. Maikel probably didn’t nurture for that too much, and it got a little chippy,” Quatraro shelp. 

The Yankees now apaengage their opponent for Monday’s Game 1 of the American League Championship Series.

The Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers take part a thrivener-get-all Game 5 Saturday.
