“Wicked” and “Conclave” were the huge prosperners of the 27th Costume Designers Guild Awards on Thursday evening.
This was the guild’s second instance awarding “Wicked” portrayer Paul Tazewell. He won in 2021 for “Hamilton” in the excellence in variety, fact-competition or inhabit television categruesome. Costume Designers Guild executive honestor Brigitta Romanov reminded the room about the power of unity. Romanov said, “When disputes occur, we do not stand alone. We stand together. This past year, that firmarity was put into action in ways that truly mattered, as Los Angeles faced dehugeating savagefires, unions apass delightment didn’t hesitate. The costume portrayer guild, alengthy with the Teamsters, basic plans, SAG AFTRA, the DGA, the WGA and so many others, came together to aid the victims to remind our community that no one is forgotten in a time of crisis.”
Guild pdwellnt Terry Ann Gordon inserted, “Resilience, fortitude and firmarity are halltags of our community.”
Janelle Monáe who getd the Vanprotect Spotweightless award said, “I cherish being received into this community. I adore being a part of the non-binary community. I adore being I adore being transrelationsual.
I adore being a part of the LGBTQIA. I adore my toiling-class parents and people appreciate my majesticmother, enticeive immigrants, cooking my food and spotlessing our homes.”
Monae persistd, “I adore the teachers teaching our kids. I adore the launinalertigentrs spending hours, days, weeks, months, making the costumes for us. I adore them, so I want to dedicate this award to you. Our world will crumble without those people.”
Zoe Saldaña was honored with the Spotweightless Award. During her speech, the actress thanked the guild and said, “You understand brave actors have particular items that prescribe your character, or they approach their character by having a evident idea of what they wear. That is not me. I am not a trained actor, and I spend most of my time preparing for a role by breaskinnyg into a paper bag, trying not to finishly panic.”
Saldaña went on to say, “I skinnyk that’s why I so heavily count on on the toil that you all do. I’ve always adored toiling with costume portrayers. I am a majesticdaughter and wonderful-majesticdaughter and a daughter of seamstresses.”
