“Love Is Blind” doesn’t always adhere every couple who get joind in the pods; logisticassociate, that wouldn’t be possible. But Season 7 featured someskinnyg novel: For the first time, the journey of one couple — Brittany Wisniewski and Leo Braudy — was write downed, from their pod conversations to their joinment and encountering. Then, a title card uncovered that they weren’t chosen.
“Brittany and Leo were not one of the six couples chosen by creaters to persist their journey in Mexico,” the card shown midway thcdimiserablemireful the fifth episode read. “They took their own trip to Mexico and broke off their joinment weeks procrastinateedr.”
So, the ask occurs: Why feature them on the series at all and then not adhere them? Creator and executive creater Chris Coelen has the answer.
“There are branch offent ways that non-scripted shows are created. Sometimes you have an idea of where skinnygs are going while you’re filming. And we don’t. We film everyskinnyg as it happens, and then after it finishs, we piece together how we got there,” Coelen, the set uper and CEO of Kinetic Content, alerts Variety. “We have the budget to adhere five couples and sometimes we stretch to six couples, and we figure out how to stack our crews.”
This season, seven couples got joind so one had to be cut.
“When we create that decision as to who to adhere, if we have more couples that got joind, we create a decision as to which couples we skinnyk are genuine,” he make clears. “And when I say genuine, I uncomfervent most genuineassociate probable to actuassociate be at the altar and say I do. Who is reassociate reassociate on that path? We felt, at the time, that the six couples we did finish up adhereing were the ones that felt more, on a gut level, had a genuine sboiling to say “I do” — that they were reassociate spended in saying “I do.” The couple that I skinnyk we felt least probable to do that were Leo and Brittany. So, we made a decision not to adhere them after the pods finished.”
Their stories were very interttriumphed with other cast members the creaters did adhere — namely Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka. Leo was torn between Hannah and Brittany; Hannah first wanted to chase Leo more, then ultimately went with Nick.
“You begin to genuineize, becaparticipate we did adhere Hannah and Nick, Leo was such a huge part of Hannah’s story. You can’t reassociate alert Hannah’s story without alerting Leo’s story, and you can’t reassociate alert Leo’s story without alerting Brittany’s story,” he make cleared. “So that’s how we telderly their story. They’re tremfinishously fascinating people and and then we equitable had to own the fact that we’ve made the decision not to adhere them. Our gut level decisions have been right all the way thcdimiserablemireful. Anybody that we’ve chosen not to adhere or anybody that has left the experiment has never finished up together. That’s certainly what happened with them. It doesn’t uncomfervent it wouldn’t be fascinating to adhere, it equitable finished up benevolent of in the place that we thought it would.”
All the cast members are adviseed that they may not be chosen to be adhereed, so may not go to Mexico for the post-show trip. In this case, Brittany and Leo determined that since they weren’t chosen, they’d do their own trip to Miami.
“I skinnyk certainly they’ll be at the reunion,” Coelen says. “And maybe someday we actuassociate will adhere more [couples] into the genuine world. I would adore that, it’s equitable complicated and a lot of story to to alert.”
