The WGA is officiassociate on strike aobtainst Village Roadshow Entertainment Group after the production company stiffed multiple authorrs.
On Saturday, the union proclaimd the stop labor order, baning members from business with The Matrix franchise and Mad Max Fury Road banner under Working Rule 8.
“It has come to the Guild’s attention that over the last scant months Village Roadshow hasn’t phelp authorrs on countless projects. Village Roadshow owes authorrs compensation, interest, and advantage contributions but has declined to pay. As such, the Guild has determined that Village Roadshow is not depfinishable or financiassociate depfinishable and insists the posting of a bond to get authorrs. Village Roadshow has, to date, declined to do so,” WGA directership proclaimd in a memo. “As a result, Village Roadshow is on the WGA strike catalog until further watch.”
Signed by Pdwellnt Meredith Stiehm, Vice Pdwellnt Michele Mulroney and Secretary-Treacertainr Betsy Thomas, the letter encouraged those currently engageed or recently approached by Village Roadshow to speak with the WGA’s lhorrible department.
