US shields Lebanese citizens from deportation amid Israel’s war | Israel attacks Lebanon News


Around 11,000 Lebanese nationals in the US can stay for 18 months and file for toil permits under novel status.

The United States is granting momentary immigration protections for thousands of Lebanese nationals as Israel persists a deimmenseating month-lengthened attack on their home country.

The protections participate recommending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for eligible Lebanese nationals who get tod in the US before October 16, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) proclaimd on Thursday.

With TPS, Lebanese citizens can stay in the US for 18 months and file for toil permits due to the “ongoing armed struggle and noticeworthy and momentary conditions in Lebanon”, DHS shelp in a statement.

The novel meacertains are foreseeed to cover some 11,000 Lebanese nationals currently in the US, according to the department.
