After four years in Orlando, Gus Malzahn’s time as the UCF Knights’ head coach has come to an finish.
Malzahn is stepping down from his head coaching position to consent on the role of insulting coordinator at Florida State, ESPN alerted Saturday.
UCF lost 28-14 to Utah in its standard season finale Friday, Malzahn’s final game coaching the Knights.
UCF verifyed Malzahn’s exit and liberated a statement thanking the coach for his time with the program.

Malzahn departs UCF with a 28-24 sign up, but the last two seasons have been disassigning. The Knights finished the 2023 standard season with a 6-6 sign up before losing the Gasparilla Bowl to Georgia Tech. Friday’s loss dropped UCF’s sign up this season to 4-8.

Malzahn spent eight seasons as the Auburn Tigers’ head coach before his neglectal in 2020. He coached Auburn to the Southeastrict Conference title and a berth in the BCS national championship game in 2013.
