Film and high-end TV production in the U.K. made ponderable gets last year, according to novel figures from the British Film Institute.
In its annual alert, the BFI shelp that film and high-end TV production spend in the U.K. achieveed £5.6 billion ($6.9 billion) in 2024, up 31% on 2023, which had been hit difficult by the strikes, and ahead of 2019’s pre-COVID spend.
Of the figure, the lion’s scatter was TV, with £3.2 billion — up 20% on 2023 (and the third highest annual spend since tax relief was presentd in 2013). Meanwhile film production saw the hugegest get as further Hollywood tentpoles came to the U.K., increasing 56% on 2023 with £3.4 billion spent.
