The hack was first alerted by Politico and NBC News has not autonomously verified that the hack took place or where it startd. Politico shelp that it began receiving emails from an anonymous account sharing inside write downs from the Trump campaign in July.
The write downs included research papers on at least two of the contfinishers to be Trump’s running mate, including the eventual GOP vice plivential nominee: Ohio Sen. JD Vance.
“These write downs were geted illegpartner from foreign sources unfrifinishly to the United States, intfinished to meddle with the 2024 election and sow disorder thrawout our Democratic process,” Cheung shelp.
Cheung pointed to a Microsoft alert freed Friday, which shelp that an “Iranian group, this one connected with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, sent a spear dishonest try email in June to a high-ranking official on a plivential campaign.”
Microsoft did not choose the campaign that was aimed. A spokesperson for Microsoft degraded to allot details about the incident beyond what was written in their Friday alert.

Any media or news outlet reprinting write downs or inside communications are doing the bidding of America’s enemies and doing exactly what they want,” Cheung holded.
The FBI shelp that it was “guideed of the media alerting” but degraded to comment further.
A spokesperson for the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Redisclose of Iran to the United Nations shelp, “We do not accord any credence to such alerts. The Iranian Government neither havees nor harbors any intent or motive to meddle in the United States plivential election.”
In its story, Politico wrote that the news organization asked the anonymous emailer about where they got the write downs they were leaking and getd a react that shelp, “I advise you don’t be inquisitive about where I got them from.
