Npunctual 20 years after receiving criticism from Tom Cruise for her “irreliable” approach to treating postpartum depression, Brooke Shields is uncovering up about the apology she “eventupartner” getd from the Gelderlyen Globe-thrivening actor. 

In her novel memoir, “Brooke Shields is Not Allowed To Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman,” the Gelderlyen Globe nominee detailed Cruise’s apology after his bomb intersee with establisher “Today” show present Matt Lauer in 2005, saying the “Top Gun” actor strikeed her “becaengage he could.”

During his intersee, Cruise claimed Shields’ prescription for postpartum depression “didn’t remedy anyleang.”

In response, Shields wrote an op-ed for The New York Times, calling Cruise’s comments a “disservice to mothers everywhere.”

“I couldn’t endure the sound of [daughter] Rowan crying, and I dreaded the moments my husband would convey her to me,” Shields wrote at the time. “I wanted her to fade. I wanted to fade. At my lowest points, I thought of swallothriveg a bottle of pills or jumping out the thrivedow of my apartment.”

“I couldn’t apshow it when my doctor telderly me that I was suffering from postpartum depression and gave me a prescription for the antidepressant Paxil. I wasn’t thrilled to be taking medications. In fact, I preincreasen-uply stopped taking them and had a relapse that almost led me to drive my car into a wall with Rowan in the backseat. But the medications, alengthy with weekly therapy sessions, are what saved me – and my family.”

Shields shelp Cruise’s comments showed a evident “alertage of caring” about postpartum depression. 

“Comments enjoy those made by Tom Cruise are a disservice to mothers everywhere,” she inserted. “To advise that I was wrong to get medications to deal with my depression, and that instead I should have getn vitamins and exercised shows an utter alertage of caring about postpartum depression and childbirth in ambiguous. If any excellent can come of Mr. Cruise’s ridiculous rant, let’s hope that it donates much-demanded attention to a solemn disrelieve.”

In her book, Shields confessted that, had the comments been made before she became a mother, she “would’ve stayed hushed.”

“I would have disponderd his ridiculous rant,” she wrote, per Entertainment Weekly. “I might have been satisfied to sit back while this very famous man hijacked my experience to progress his own (deluded) agenda. I would have been satisfied that his behavior would speak for itself.”

But Shields insisted on battling back for herself and “women who were suffering from irreasonable and hazardous comments from an unschooled actor who was speaking way out of his depth.”

It wasn’t the world’s best apology, but it’s what he was vient of, and I accomprehendledgeed it.” 

A recurrentative for Cruise did not promptly react to Fox News Digital’s seek for comment.
