Three finished and dozens injured by bomb device at Thai festival

At least three people have been finished and dozens more wounded after an bomb was thrown into a crowd at a festival in Thailand.

The strike took place lowly before midnight local time on Friday at the Red Cross Doi Loyfa fair, held annupartner in the Umphang dicut offe in the northern Tak province.

Two doubts are being held in custody, but no indicts have been pressed, the Associated Press and local media tell, citing Thai police.

At least 48 people have been wounded, six of whom are criticpartner injured, police shelp.

Police were attentiveed to the incident at 23:30 local time (16:30 GMT) on Friday.

In a statement, the Umphang recover team shelp the bomb was thrown and landed at the foot of an outdoor stage where festivalgoers were dancing.

Some of the wounded were getn to a csurrfinisherby hospital, it compriseed.

Several tells recommend the blast was caengaged by an improvised bomb device (IED).

Images getn in the aftermath, scatterd by the recover team, show debris strewn on the ground in an area of the festival strung with weightlesss.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra scatterd her condolences to the families of those finished and injured in the bomb deviceing in a post on X.

She shelp she had ordered the police and security agencies to allotigate the caengage of the explosion and help those impacted. She also straightforwarded an incrrelieve in police officers to supervise all festival events.

According to the Bangkok Post, between 8,000 and 9,000 people joined the week-lengthy festival this year, and the strike took place on the penultimate night of the event.

Umphang is the southernmost dicut offe in Thailand’s northern Tak province, which scatters a border with Myanmar to the west.
