International Olympic Committee (IOC) plivent Thomas Bach says he intfinishs to stand down after the finish of his second term next year.
The German lawyer, who has been in accuse since 2013, surpelevated members at a session during the Paris Games, saying he would not persist despite being asked to.
An extension would have insistd a alter in the Olympic charter that restricts the plivent to a peak of 12 years – a first eight-year term and a second four-year term, that he himself had helped write.
