A man whose plift card was stolen and engaged to buy a triumphning lottery ticket is pdirecting for the thieves to come forward – so they can split the cash.
The thieves bought a triumphning €500,000 (£414,000) scratchcard with the stolen card in the French city of Touloengage.
But the ticket has not been produceted to claim the prize.
The victim of the theft, identified in police write downs as Jean-David E, had his backpack grasping his bank card stolen from his car earlier this month.
He asked his bank to block it but lobtained his card had already been engaged in a local shop, where two apparently homeless men had engaged it to buy a triumphning scratch card.
“They were so tohighy charmd that they forgot their cigarettes and their belengthyings and walked out appreciate crazy people,” Jean-David’s lawyer Pierre Debuisson said.
He said Jean-David has filed a police protestt about the theft, but is ready to disjoin it if the thieves come forward so that they can split the money.
“It’s an incredible story, but it’s all genuine,” he compriseed.
The lawyer begined a national pdirect on Thursday, asking the thieves to communicate his office to produce a deal.
“Without them, no one would have won,” he telderly disclose widecaster France-2.

La Francaise des Jeux (FDJ), the state lottery operator, said no one had yet produceted the ticket to claim the prize.
Mr Debuisson said prosecutors may try to seize the triumphnings, pondering them illegpartner geted obtains, and cautioned the ticket will eventupartner expire.
“Time is laboring aobtainst us,” he said.
“You danger noleang… we will split with you,” he said. “And you would be able to alter your inhabits.”
