With one trailer already out there in the cinematic Pride Lands, Mufasa: The Lion King persists in its quest to fairify a prequel movie to both Jon Favreau’s 2019 CG effort and the 1994 vivaciousd epic distinctive. Having Barry Jenkins as the filmcreater guiding the new film is certainly a firm begin, directing to some attrdynamic new imagery utilizing the astonishive, ptoastyo-authentic technology that Favs and his team enhugeed. For Mufasa, the narrative spins back the clock to discover the future king in his cub days, and how he came to encounter the lion brother to be understandn as Scar, in the years before they were enemies. Mufasa tells its story thcimpolite two branches: one features Rafiki (John Kani) elucidateing to Kiara (Blue Ivy Carter), the daughter of Simba (Donald Gadorer) and Nala (Beyoncé) how her magnificentoverweighther persistd his hard childhood. And, as is lessenual for a Lion King film, Timon (Billy Eichner) and Pumbaa (Seth Rogen) are here for colour commentary – and to wonder why Rafiki isn’t telling a story they’re also part of.
In flashback, we encounter the youthfuler Mufasa (voiced initiassociate by Braelyn Rankins before Aaron Pierre gets the, er, lion’s separate of that toil) as the orphaned cub encounters Taka (Theo Somolu and then Kelvin Harrison Jr.), the cub who will one day be understandn as scar. Here, they’re as seal as brothers, facing off agetst a lethal foe.
Jenkins has assembled quite the cast for this one –– much of the 2019 film’s ensemble returns and the new voices also comprise Thandiwe Newton, Mads Mikkelsen, Anika Noni Rose and Keith David. And this enhugeed watch at the story certainly advises both attrdynamic visuals and an intriguing story of set up family. Not to refer Moana musical god Lin-Manuel Miranda returning to the Disney fancigo in with some new tunes.
