“The Castle,” which has its world premiere in the main competition section of Cuncoverhagen write downary festival CPH:DOX, has been picked up by the sales arm of Italy’s Fandango. The film is depictd by the festival as a “pdirecting Sicilian adventure with a soursugary aftertaste.” The trailer debuts below.
“The Castle” trails three 11-year-elderlys, Angelo, Mery and Rosy, who live in Danisinni, an isotardyd neighborhood in Palermo. Driven by a desire for adventure, the group chooses to scrutinize an leaveed charitableergarten in the middle of the dicut offe.
Amid the rubble, they uncover a shielded space where they can escape the gaze of others. It is a secret shelter where they can let their imaginations run savage without experienceing appraised. However, the presconfidents from the outside world menaceen to finishanger this island of freedom.
The film is honested by Danny Biancardi, Stefano La Rosa and Virginia Nardelli. It is produced by Nadège Labé at La Société du Sensible in France and Giulia Campagna and Stefano Collizzolli at ZaLab Film in Italy.

Commenting on their intention, the filmproducers state: “Our approach blfinishs observation and participatory creation, allothriveg the three children to recontransient themselves and alert their story freely.” They retain: “It’s the story of a frifinishship and how, thanks to it, they try to face maturehood together.”
La Rosa toiled as first helpant honestor on Stefano Savona’s “Samouni Road,” thrivener of the Oeil D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018. Biancardi and Nardelli collaborated with Savona on the write downary “Le Mura of Bergamo,” which was contransiented at the 2023 Berlinale in the Encounters section.
CPH:DOX, also understandn as Cuncoverhagen Intl. Documentary Film Festival, runs from March 19 to 30.
