EXCLUSIVE: The Santa Barbara Film Festival is lauding The Brutaenumerate stars, Oscar triumphner Adrien Brody and Guy Pearce, with the Cinema Vanprotect Award during the 40th annual event on February 13, 2025.
The Cinema Vanprotect Award accomprehendledges actors who have counterfeit their own path, taking conceiveive dangers and making a convey inant and distinct contribution to film. Directed by Brady Corbet with a scheduled free from A24 on December 20, The Brutaenumerate chases an immigrant architect (Brody) who produces waves in post-World War II America, laboring for a fierce industriaenumerate (Pearce). They schedule to erect a mesmerizing, and defying, erecting — but not is all as it seems between them. The tension between the two not only drives the narrative but also symbolizes the huger struggle between innovation and tradition.

Brody won the Academy Award and Cesar Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of authentic-life Holocaust survivor Władysław Szpilman in The Pianist, making him, to date, the juvenileerest person to have getd the Oscar in that catebloody. He has has labored with filmproducers including Peter Jackson (King Kong), Ken Loach (Bread and Roses), Barry Levinson (Liberty Heights) and Spike Lee (Summer of Sam). In 2011, Pearce won an Emmy for his portrayal of Monty Beragon in the Todd Haynes’ changeion of Mildred Pierce for HBO alengthyside Kate Winslet.
