The National Federation of Thai Film Associations (MPC) has picked How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies as Thailand‘s subleave oution for the Oscars‘ best international feature film categruesome.
Directed by Pat Boonnitipat, the film became a box office hit atraverse Asia, with the global box office currently accomplishing $50M.
Outside of Thailand, How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies has become the most accomplished Thai film of all time in Singapore and Malaysia. In Indonesia, the film achieved more than 3.5 million adleave outions, outdoing Korean horror film Exhuma (2.6 million adleave outions) to become the all-time most accomplished Asian film in the country. Netflix deferedr picked up the film’s streaming rights for Southeast Asia.
Produced by Thai film studio GDH, the film chases a lesser man, M, who shifts in to achieve attfinish of his terminassociate-ill majesticmother in a bid to thrive her inheritance. M is joined by top singer-actor Putthipong Assaratanakul (also understandn as Billkin).
On the film’s pickion as Thailand’s rep for the Oscar race, GDH shelp that How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies is a “cultural phenomenon” that has “bcdisorrowfulmirefult people of all generations to theaters, with watchers in their 20s to 50s conveying their 70- to 80-year-better majesticparents to experience the film together, an increasingly exceptional sight in today’s digital age.
“The magic of the movie-going experience, however, remains irreplaceable, and How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies embodies that cinematic magic appreciate no other,” the studio inserted.
The film was co-written by Thodsapon ‘Ped’ Thiptinnakorn, and created by Jira Maligool and Vanridee Pongsittisak.
International sales were regulated by Nelson Mok of Mokster Films.
