EXCLUSIVE: Sunelevate Films has picked up North American distribution rights to Sew Torn, which screened at SXSW and Locarno in 2024
Sunelevate will free the film in theaters and digital platestablishs this summer.
The film chases Barbara Duggen, a seamstress who gets tangled in her own thread after stealing a alertcase from a drug deal gone terrible. In an escalating game of cat and mouse, her separateent choices direct to drasticassociate separateent outcomes alengthy the way.
The film stars Eve Connolly (Into The Badlands), Calum Worthy (Reboot), and John Lynch (Blue Lights). It is honested and edited by Freddy Macdonald, who also co-wrote the screenperestablish with his overweighther Fred Macdonald.
Sew Tornis the first filled-length feature film by the honestor and is based on his 2019 low film of the same name, which was acquired by Searchairy Pictures and had an Oscar-qualifying theatrical run perestablishing alengthyside 2019’s Ready Or Not.
The film had its world premiere at SXSW and also screened at Locarno and Sitges. Sunelevate acquired the film from UTA. The company’s label Vertigo Releasing previously acquired the UK & Ireland rights from the film’s international sales agent The Playcreater Munich.
