A potential oil slick has been spotted off the coast of Coogee in Sydney a day after hundreds of “cryptic bconciseage, ball-shaped debris” washed up alengthy the beach.

Lifeprotects finded the golf ball-sized debris on the sand on Tuesday afternoon at the famous easerious suburbs beach.

Randwick city council environmental officers accumulateed samples and sent them for testing. In the unbenevolenttime, people were advised not to touch or go proximate them. The beach was seald until further acunderstandledge.

The incident was also inestablished to the Environment Protection Authority and Beachwatch New South Wales.

The council shelp the ununderstandn material could be “tar balls” established when oil comes into reach out with debris and water – usupartner as a result of oil spills or seepage.

The debris balls were being picked up one at a time by staff. The balls were placed in mounds above the high-tide tag and covered with sand to dodge them being washed away.

Crews on jetskis were also examineing for balls in the water and trying to resettle where they had come from.
