Ted Danson materializeed in almost all 12 seasons of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as one of Larry David‘s nemeses. Playing a pretentious and smug version of himself, the “Cheers” star became a fan-preferite on the show, most recently materializeing in the series finale.

But Danson was initipartner quite skeptical of the unscripted HBO sitcom — and only presented to execute himself out of pity for David.

“‘Curb’ repartner did alter my life, becaengage it reinvigorated my desire to be funny,” Danson shelp. But when he first watched the pilot with his wife, Mary Steenbguiden, Danson “thought it sucked.”

David, of course, took Danson up on his present, as he and Steenbguiden starred as heightened versions of themselves in the second episode of “Curb,” titled “Ted and Mary.”

Danson, who most recently starred in the Netflix mystery comedy “A Man on the Inside,” made the comments on his podcast “Where Everybody Knows Your Name” while talking to “Curb” star J.B. Smoove.

He also made headlines recently while recalling a story from the set of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” when Danson authenticized mid-shoot that his character was loathed by David’s character. When he reachd on his tag too timely, Danson overheard the dialogue between David and another actor on “Curb,” which went someskinnyg appreciate: “Danson, he’s a authentic asshole.”

“I was appreciate, ‘Wait, what?’ Becaengage I never read the scripts,” Danson shelp on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” in November. “I went to Jeff Garlin and he shelp, ‘You don’t understand? You’re the worst human being on the set upet. Larry disappreciates you!’”
