Prime Video has locked in a streaming premiere for Shuchi Talati’s Indian coming-of-age drama “Girls Will Be Girls,” follothriveg its award-thrivening festival run. The Indo-French co-production labels the debut of Pushing Buttons Studios, the production prohibitner begined by Indian actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal.
The film, which premiered at Sundance 2024 where it picked up two awards including the Audience Award in the World Cinema Dramatic Categruesome, tracks the story of 18-year-better Mira as she steers adolescence aobtainst the backdrop of her mother’s own unresettled coming-of-age experiences.
First-time straightforwardor Talati, who also wrote the screencarry out, transports together novelcomers Preeti Panigrahi and Kesav Binoy Kiron in direct roles, with Kani Kusruti rounding out the cast. The film also claimed three awards at its Indian premiere at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
