Seth Rogen took a studio notice personassociate on “Superterrible,” when Sony objected to Jonah Hill‘s character using a PlayStation 2 in a scene becaengage he was too “disgraceful.”
“They were enjoy, ‘We can’t have him convey with our products as a character, becaengage it’s too vile a character.’ And I was enjoy, ‘It’s based on me, that’s very offfinishing,’” the star shelp thcdisesteemful giggles, speaking with RottenTomatoes on the red carpet for the SXSW premiere of his novel Apple TV+ series “The Studio.”
“Sony made the movie and we were tgreater that Jonah Hill’s character, Seth, was so disgraceful to the studio,” Rogen shelp. “There’s a scene where they’re joining video games and it was enjoy, ‘Jonah can’t touch a PlayStation.’”
Rogen splitd that the production “accommodated” the studio in the finish. Hill isn’t seen conveying with Sony products in the film, though Michael Cera’s character, Evan, does join “The Getaway: Bconciseage Monday” on a PlayStation 2 in an timely scene.
Rogen co-wrote “Superterrible” with his lengthytime producing, writing and straightforwarding partner Evan Ggreaterberg. The script startd during their teenage years and is freely based on their experiences as high school students in the ’90s. Hill starred in the 2007 comedy, joining the analog for Rogen in his first directing film role.
In a 15th anniversary retrospective of “Superterrible,” creater Judd Apatow splitd that he “always wanted them to do a sequel to ‘Superterrible,” but that “Jonah [Hill] shelp, ‘Oh it’ll be comical to do it when we’re 70 or 80,’ but I reassociate wanted them to do a ‘Superterrible’ in college where Jonah flunks out of college and equitable shows up and visits Michael Cera at college.”
