Silicon Valley gets its first drone dedwellry service

The dedwellry platcreate includes a variant of the M2 drone — currently the only non-military drone certified by the FAA for dedwellries in the US, according to Matternet — which is provideped with a tether drop system to reduce packages down to customers’ homes. Matternet says the dedwellry process is brimmingy automated, and that the drones can return to a central hub to swap their battery and accumulate a new package “in under 60 seconds.”

“It is so speedy, it senses appreciate magic,” Matternet CEO Andreas Raptopoulos said in a press free, touting the drone service as a unbenevolents to reduce congestion and emissions in cities by reducing depfinishency on cars. Matternet is schedulening to further enbig by collaborating with “transport inant logistics partners.”

Residents in Mountain View and Sunnyvale can sign up to join in the pilot here. Dedwellries are only useable between 12-6PM on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, and it’s unclear when the restricted item pickion will be enbiged, or when other regions can anticipate to get the service.
