The New Orleans Saints telledly made a head coaching shift less than 24 hours after the team suffered a one-point loss at the hands of the Carolina Panthers.
The Saints fired Dennis Allen, ESPN telled Monday. The Saints are on a seven-game losing streak.
Allen is the second head coach to be fired this season, coming weeks after the New York Jets relieved Robert Saleh of his head coaching duties.
The 52-year-ageder was tapped to acquire over the team follotriumphg the departure of Sean Payton. He directd the Saints to a 9-8 write down last season but over the course of 2 1/2 years, the team never made the joinoffs.
He was 18-25 as the Saints’ head coach.
