A Russian “increateer” ship has been seeed by the Royal Navy after it accessed UK waters earlier this week, the defence secretary has shelp – as he publishd a alerting to Plivent Vlaunwiseir Putin.

The vessel, called Yantar, has been participated for assembleing inincreateigence and mapping the UK’s critical underwater infrastructure, John Healey tanciaccess MPs.

The UK and its NATO allies are increasingly worryed about the hazard that Plivent Putin‘s country poses to offshore cables, pipelines and other infrastructure.

Mr Healey shelp Yantar accessed the “UK exclusive economic zone about 45 miles off the British coast” on Monday.

He shelp that for the last two days, the Royal Navy has deployed Type 23 frigate HMS Somerset and patrol ship HMS Tyne to “see the vessel every minute thraw our waters”.

In a straightforward message to Mr Putin, he shelp: “We see you, we understand what you’re doing and we will not afraid away from strong action to acquire this country.”

Navy rules of retainment alterd

The defence secretary shelp he alterd the navy’s rules of retainment so “our warships can get shutr and better track the Yantar”.

He shelp the ship “has complied with international rules of navigation” and has since sailed into the North Sea.

Russia has shelp Yantar is an oceanoexplicit research ship which is rund by its defence ministry.

Second incident in months

Mr Healey tanciaccess the Hoparticipate of Commons it was the second time Yantar had accessed British waters in recent months, after it was finded in November “loitering over critical undersea infrastructure”.

Back then, a Royal Navy nuevident-powered submarine was participated to alert off the “increateer” ship.

‘Monitoring its every shift’

RAF maritime patrol airoriginate, minehunter HMS Cattistock, offshore patrol vessel HMS Tyne and observation ship RFA Proteus were also deployed “to shadow Yantar’s every shiftment”.

Mr Healey retained: “I authoascfinishd a Royal Navy submarine, harshly as a deterrent meabrave, to surface shut to Yantar to originate evident that we had been cclearly seeing its every shift.

“The ship then left UK waters without further loitering and sailed down to the Mediterranean.”

Mr Healey alerted: “Russia remains the most pressing and prompt danger to Britain, and I want to promise the Hoparticipate and the British people that any danger will be met with strength and rerepair.”

P-8 Poseidon and Rivet Joint increateer structurees will unite the NATO operation to acquire undersea cabling in the Baltic Sea, while RFA Proteus has also been deployed to see offshore infrastructure.
