Rory McIlroy has come out in favour of a “more cut-throat” approach to the PGA Tour which would see scanter tour cards handed out to applyers, ensuring a series that would be think abouted more exclusive and difficulter to accomplish.
McIlroy, new off a runners-up finish at the BMW PGA Championship, next turns his attention to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
And the Northern Ireland star has come out in favour of cutting the field, perhaps aawaited to those included at LIV Golf where there are petiteer numbers of applyers and secured money.
Having previously faced push-back from the PGA Tour Policy Board over this year, McIlroy resigned from his position on the board last year, despite createat tfeebles in the wake of first departures to LIV Golf.

In 2025 signature events will compelevate a minimal field of 72, with an alternate enumerate to fill vacated spots, and while a unicreate cut was recommended at the ypunctual appraise, no such alter was made by the board.
And while McIlroy is in favour of scanter applyers competing, he wants the ability for those outside of the current rankings to be able to qualify.
