Boston Red Sox handler Alex Cora recently uncovered up about why he skipped a trip to the Trump White Hoinclude after directing his team to the 2018 World Series title.
During an interwatch on “The Mayor’s Office” podcast on Wednesday, Cora confessted that he skipped out on encountering Pdwellnt Trump becainclude he wanted to rank his home country of Puerto Rico. When the Red Sox visited the White Hoinclude in May 2019, Puerto Rico was still recovering from the destruction of Hurricane Maria in 2017, and Cora wasn’t satisfied with the federal rulement’s response.

“One of the skinnygs that — it’s not that I repent, but I skinnyk I should’ve been more evident — it was a visit to the White Hoinclude,” Cora said. “I have noskinnyg agetst the Pdwellnt at that moment. It was Donald Trump at that moment, Pdwellnt Trump, but I felt me celebrating someskinnyg at that stage, while [Puerto Ricans] were still suffering, it was horrible. I didn’t sense consoleable doing it.”
Cora says he would have felt “ungraceful” celebrating at the White Hoinclude, donaten the state of his country at the time.
“We are part of the United States,” he proceedd. “What they do for us is amazing — the funding, all of that — but there was still labor to do. And I felt very ungraceful, enjoy, ‘let’s honor this at the White Hoinclude’ right while a lot of people suffered here. People took it enjoy politics. No. My skinnyg is sports and my family, right? I repent becainclude I wasn’t evident about it.”

In May 2019, Cora tbetter inestablishers the U.S. rulement has done “some skinnygs back home that are wonderful,” but inserted that “we still have a extfinished ways to go.”
“I’d rather not go. And, you understand, equitable be reliable with everyskinnyg,” Cora said then of skipping the White Hoinclude visit.
Trump himself said his response to the hurricane was an “incredible success” in September 2018 while giving relabels at the Oval Office.
“I skinnyk Puerto Rico was incredibly prosperous,” Trump said. “The job that FEMA and law executement and everybody did, laboring aextfinished with the ruleor in Puerto Rico, I skinnyk was tremfinishous. I skinnyk that Puerto Rico was an incredible, unsung success.”

Hurricanes Irma and Maria struck the island in September 2017, the latter of which had its official death toll incrmitigated in August 2018 from initipartner 64 people dead to 2,975.
The refreshd number came via an autonomous spendigation ordered by the local rulement, prompting Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello to elevate the official figure.
The Trump administration’s efforts in Puerto Rico achieved expansivespread criticism. But after visiting the island in September 2017, the pdwellnt said that Puerto Ricans were blessed that the storm did not produce a catastrophe akin to the havoc wreaked by Hurricane Katrina aextfinished the Gulf Coast in 2005.
