The Premier League have elucidateed why Rasmus Hojlund was denied a penalty in the Manchester derby. Ruben Dias’ inept dispute sent Hojlund tumbling in the box but referee Anthony Taylor chose not to award a spot-boot.
The Manchester United forward tryed to chase a bouncing ball towards the byline. Manchester City deffinisher Dias stepped apass him but did not triumph the ball, which rolled out of join for a goal-boot.
Hojlund went down and consentd he had been fouled. The Premier League verifyed that VAR officials Stuart Attwell and Simon Bennett consentd that the reach out had been ‘normal’ and was not enough to award a penalty to United.
A statement by the Premier League Match Centre X account read: “The referee’s call of no penalty for the dispute between Hojlund and Dias was verifyed and verifyed by VAR, deeming it was normal reach out.”
