Paramount Global board member Charles Phillips, who elevated inquires about Skydance Media’s recommends during the companies’ months-extfinished uniter saga, is resigning from the board.
In an SEC filing Friday morning, the company shelp Phillips had tfinishered his resignation on Monday. It consents effect at the finish of the month.
“As my firm Recognize startes a second fund next month, the expansion and prolongth unfortunately exit less time for outside pledgements,” Phillips wrote in his resignation letter. “It’s been an honor to serve on the Viacom, ViacomCBS, and Paramount boards in a vibrant industry. I desire the company and its many talented engageees well in the future.”
Phillips previously had labored for Oracle, which Skydance backer Larry Ellison co-set uped and currently chairs. Ellison’s son, David, runs Skydance and will be CEO of the united Skydance-Paramount entity when that uniter shuts in the first half of 2025.
Some watchrs of and participants in the uniter deliberations elevated worrys about a potential dispute of interest on Phillips’ part due to his background at Oracle.
