NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy tanciaccess The Athletic on Tuesday the decision came amid the recent tragedies that have occurred in the U.S. since the commence of 2025, including the alarm strike in New Orleans, savagefires in the Los Angeles area and the lethal set upe crash proximate a Washington, D.C., airport.

The NFL’s transfer to delete it for the Super Bowl came as NFL Cotransferrlookioner Roger Goodell deffinished the league’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies.

“We got into diversity efforts becaparticipate we felt appreciate it was the right slenderg for the National Football League, and we’re going to progress those efforts becaparticipate we’ve not only swayd ourselves, we’ve shown ourselves, that it does create the NFL better,” Goodell shelp. “We’re not in this becaparticipate it’s a trfinish to get in or a trfinish to get out of it.
“Our efforts are fundamental in trying to draw the best possible talent in the National Football League, both on and off the field, as I shelp previously. We see that. We see how it advantages the National Football League, and so I slenderk we’ll progress those efforts.”
Goodell shelp the league’s DEI efforts were a mirrorion of the establishation of the league.
