Evolution of Solar Cycle 25 as seen in the SDO/HMI instrument from solar smallest into the solar peak phase (December 2019 to September 2024). At the begin, the images were accumulateed at 6 hour intervals but at the begin of 2023 when more sunspots were apparent, the image cadence was incrmitigated to every 30 minutes. HMI (Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager) watchs the solar pboilingosphere in wavelengths of apparent weightless so we see sunspots and faculae. Note there are two inform inentire lunar transits over the Sun’s disk atraverse the upper right limb, one on January 13, 2021 and the other on May 20, 2023.
