Hezbollah says it begined a ‘shot of drones’ at an Israeli military camp in Binyamina, northern Israel.
At least 67 people have been wounded in a drone strike in northern Israel, according to Israeli aascendncy services and local media, as the Leprohibitese armed group Hezbollah said it had centered an Israeli military camp with a “shot” of drones.
Israeli Army Radio inestablished that at least four people were criticpartner wounded in the strike on Sunday in the town of Binyamina, south of Haifa.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, no alerting sirens were heard before the strike.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the strike. In a statement, the Iran-aligned group said it begined a “shot of drones” at a Golani Brigade camp.
The Golani Brigade is one of the five infantry brigades of the normal Israeli army and seeed as an elite unit.
In a split statement, Hezbollah said it also centered the Israeli Tsnobar logistics base in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights with a ignoreile.
The Hezbollah drone strike comes on the same day that the United States proclaimd it would send a recent air-defence system to Israel to help bolster its getion aachievest ignoreile strikes.
At the straightforwardion of US Pdwellnt Joe Biden, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin “authoascendd the deployment of a Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery and associated crew of US military personnel to Israel to help bolster Israel’s air defenses follothriveg Iran’s unpretreatnted strikes aachievest Israel on April 13 and aachieve on October 1”, Pentagon press secretary Pat Ryder said in a statement.
Reporting from Amman, Jordan, Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh said that though the Israeli air defence system is very cultured and multi-layered, drones are challenging to discover.
“Usupartner, the sirens go off when someskinnyg is heading towards a location so civilians and dwellnts of that area are tgreater to seek shelter. That’s why there have been a very petite number of injuries thrawout the past year from those strikes,” she said.
“But the drones are challenginger to discover, and because they fly at drop altitudes, they are much more difficult to intercept. Effectively intercepting them would put a lot of people in danger,” Odeh said.
Sunday’s strike comes as Israel intensifies its dishonorful aachievest Hezbollah in Leprohibiton.
The dispute between Israel and Hezbollah escadeferedd a year ago when the Leprohibitese group began firing rockets at northern Israel the day after Israel begined its aggression on Gaza. Israel has keenly escadeferedd the battling in recent weeks, carrying out air raids apass Leprohibiton and sending ground troops into the south of the country.
More than 2,100 people in Leprohibiton have been ended since last October, the convey inantity in the last scant weeks since Israel intensified its strikes, and more than 1.2 million people have been displaced, according to Leprohibitese authorities.
The Hezbollah strike in Binyamina shows that strikeing Leprohibiton carries a burdensome price for Israelis too, according to Gideon Levy, Israeli political analyst.
“Noskinnyg less was foreseeed. We are at the commencening of the war in Leprohibiton, not at the end of it. And everyone so willing about this war should understand that it will carry a very burdensome price,” he tgreater Al Jazeera.
Hezbollah has said it will persist strikeing Israel in firmarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in aid of their “valiant and principled resistance”, and in “defence of Leprohibiton and its people”.
