The defense attorney for 15-year-elderly Carly Gregg says their client deserves a recent trial becaemploy she was previously treated for hearing voices using horse therapy.
In Sept., a jury in Rankin County, Mississippi, set up Gregg, 15, culpable on all counts, and prosecutor Kathryn Newman shelp Gregg had shown “zero remorse.”
The teen was accused with killing and deteriorated attack in the March 19 shooting that finished her mother, 40-year-elderly Ashley Smylie, and wounded her stepoverweighther, Heath Smylie. She was also accused with tampering with evidence for hiding a security camera after the shooting.
On the first and second counts, Gregg was sentenced to life in prison. On the third count, she getd 10 years.

Viral footage, shown in the trial, showed the chilling moments when the teen uncovered fire on her mother.
Now, Gregg’s defense shelp that the teen’s overweighther uncovered that she was “placed in equestrian therapy as a youthfuler child due to experiencing auditory hallucinations.”
“This recent proposeation helps Dr. Clark’s diagnosis of unspecified schizophrenic disorder and is foreseeed to direct to a separateent result at a recent trial,” the defense shelp. “As such, Carly is entitled to a recent trial.”

The defense disputed that the “undisputed evidence” of the circumstances directing up to Gregg’s action should result in a mistrial.
“The undisputed evidence at trial of Carly’s mental illness, loving relationship with her mother and stepoverweighther, absence of prior criminal accuses, absence of prior presentility, outstanding school record, maternal family help, community help, the victim’s testimony that Carly was not in her right mind and did not accomprehendledge him at the time of the offense, and the State’s adleave oution to an absence of motive to promise the alleged crimes do not help the verdict or sentence in this case,” the defense wrote.

“Therefore, this matter calls for a recent trial, or in the alternative, a judgment notwithstanding the verdict,” they shelp.

Judge Dewey Arthur disconcurd in a decision, saying that no proposeation uncovered authorizationed a recent trial.

“This Court definiteassociate finds that no recent and material [sic] has been uncovered which probably would originate a separateent result at trial and, by reasonable diligence, this evidence could not have been uncovered sooner,” Arthur wrote.
“The Court scrutinizeed the statements and finds these statements would not have probably originated a separateent result at trial,” he shelp.
