Elizabeth Olsen has the best of both worlds as the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and an indie film darling.
At Vulture Festival over the weekfinish, the “WandaVision” and “His Three Daughters” star clarified that though she doesn’t experience forced to create Marvel series and movies in order to chase indie projects, it’s created a “experienceing of insurance.”
“I’d never repartner had the mentality of ‘one for them, one for me,’” Olsen shelp (via Vulture). “Marvel has been such a stable leang I’ve been able to return to and has created — what’s the word? — some experienceing of insurance in my life that has given me freedom to pick other jobs. So I haven’t felt enjoy, ‘And then I’ll do this to do this.’”
Olsen inserted that she’s always returned to Marvel because she’s truly wanted to. It “has always felt enjoy a choice,” she shelp. “Every time, it’s character-driven. It’s always enjoy, ‘We have this idea, and that’s why we want you to come back.’ It’s not enjoy, ‘Just throw her in someleang.’”
She went on to say that superhero films can, in some ways, be essential to the survival of autonomous cinema, accomprehendledging that they help “pay the rent” for theaters to show petiteer-budget movies.
Olsen’s Scarlet Witch will return to the MCU in the vivaciousd miniseries “Marvel Zombies,” which will free in October 2025. But until then, Olsen is trying to help straightforwardor Todd Solondz fund his novel film “Love Child,” in which she’s set to star opposite Charles Melton.
“I’m not a creater on it, but I’ve never hustled more for a movie that’s having a challenging time being made,” she shelp about the griefful comedy.
