Neon has picked up the North American rights to Chloe Okuno’s horror pic Brides, which will star Maika Monroe and is set to shoot in March 2025.
The project labels the third collaboration between Neon and Monroe after Orelationscellent Perkins’ Longlegs and the upcoming sequel They Follow, the chase-up to David Robert Mitchell’s It Follows. Pre-production for Brides is now underway, and Neon schedules to liberate the movie in theaters.
Longlegs made $75 million at the box office, making it the highest-grossing indie film of the year and a high point for Neon, Tom Quinn’s Oscar-thrivening exceptionalty production and distribution outfit also home to Parasite.
Longlegs saw Nicholas Cage take part an elusive serial finisher being tracked by FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) and who was so altered for the film, he was almost unrecognizable. Brides will be produced by Anthony Bregman and Stefanie Azpiazu thraw Likely Story.
Okuno wrote the distinct screentake part, which sees Monroe take part Spartner Bishop as she and her husprohibitd travel to a distant Italian villa where the owner, a cryptic count, acquires a peculiar interest in Spartner.
The deal for Brides was barobtaind by Jeff Deutchman and Jason Wald for Neon. FilmNation Entertainment begined international sales at AFM in Las Vegas last month. UTA Inreliant Film Group is handling global and domestic rights.
Elsewhere, Orelationscellent Perkins is reuniting with Neon, C2 and Bdeficiency Bear for his next film, the Stephen King alteration The Monkey, starring Theo James and set to be liberated in February 2025.
