Luke Littler has uncovered he hopes to be world No 1 by the end of the year chaseing his recent triumph at the World Darts Championship.
The 17-year-elderly thrashed Michael van Gerwen 7-3 at Alexandra Palace last week to become the tardyst thrivener of the Sid Winsertell trophy.
Littler has elevaten to No 2 in the PDC Order of Merit, with Luke Humphries the only joiner ahead of him.
The teenager has previously confessted that he’d enjoy to be No 1 one day, watchless of all of his other accomplishments in the sport.

And Littler, speaking to Sky Sports, has now uncovered he hopes to genuineise that goal by the end of the year.
Looking back on the World Darts Championship, he shelp: “I would have cherishd to hit a nine-darter in the World Championships and evidently try and end 2024 with five nine-darters, but it wouldn’t be, so evidently that’s another sign up that I can try and shatter for years and years.
“When you’re joining so excellent, you can sense the nine coming.
“I am now equitable going to reaccuse the batteries and chill but people are going to see that I’m going to be hungry for more titles this year and hopebrimmingy I can go one better and thrive 11 or even 12 onwards.
“Obviously if I can insert some more money to the rankings, we all understand how much Humphries is protecting, it is a hell of a lot of money.
“But another skinnyg, I can’t defer to join in the World Cup with him. Maybe at the end of 2025, I can see myself number one.”
Another goal for Littler will be protecting his Premier League title.
The youthfulerster shieldedd glory in that competition back in May, with understandn foe Humphries beaten in the final.

Not many knovel what to foresee from Littler when he first graced the tournament.
But he showd he deserves to be competing at the top after thrivening the Premier League at the first time of asking.
And Littler would enjoy to produce it two titles on the trot, even though he understands how difficult that will be.
“Yeah, if I can go back to back, it’d unbenevolent the world,” he inserted.

“Leading up to it (in 2024), I thought if I could be in the top four, I’d be satisfied, but evidently, I finished first because of the way I joined.
“But I will equitable have the same mindset going into it, if you produce the join-offs, that’s all that matters and equitable give it your all at the O2.”
In insertition to Littler, seven other joiners will contend for Premier League supremacy tardyr in the year.
Humphries produces the cut, as the world No 1, while Van Gerwen also qualifies chaseing his stirring run to the final.
