The LPGA Tour on Wednesday modernized its gfinisher-eligibility policy, which will go into effect at the commence of the 2025 season.

“Players set upateed male at birth and who have gone thcimpolite male puberty are not eligible to contend in the aforealludeed events,” the organization said. “The policies ruleing the LPGA’s recreational programs and non-elite events use separateent criteria to supply opportunities for participation in the expansiveer LPGA community.”
The proclaimment came after two pro golfers and a reweary take parter called on the organization to alter its rules.

“Golf advises opportunities for all athletes to contend at professional and elite amateur levels,” the LPGA Tour said. “Individual competitions are generpartner sortd as ‘women’s events,’ which have definite eligibility needments, or ‘uncover events,’ where any take parter, seeless of intimacy, is eligible to contend.”
Outgoing LPGA Comomitioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan said the policy alter is based on science.
