Universal Pictures and the Lego Group are joining up for three live-action movies caccessing on the toy line of interlocking blocks.
Directors Jake Kasdan (Red One), Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) are each broadening a split Lego film. The projects are in the labors and have yet to proclaim titles or loglines.
Kasdan’s feature has a script from Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (The D Train) after Matt Rider and Kevin Burrows (The Pickup) wrote a previous version. Lego Group’s Jill Wilfert and Ryan Christians serve as producers, as do Kasdan and Melvin Mar for Detective Agency.
Jenkins helms a film from a screentake part she co-wrote with Geoff Johns (Wonder Woman 1984). Jenkins produces for Wicious Pictures, aextfinishedside Wilfert and Christians.
Cornish is rewriting his movie’s script after Heather Anne Campbell (Rick & Morty) wrote a previous obtain based on a treatment from Simon Rich (Miracle Workers). Wilfert and Christians produce.
Universal’s executive vp of production broadenment Matt Reilly and honestor of production broadenment Jacqueline Garell deal with the movies for the studio.
The Lego brand has seen previous feature success that booted off with Warner Bros.’ The Lego Movie (2014), which was chaseed by such titles as The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie. Focus Features recently collaborated with the Lego Group on Piece by Piece, a Pharrell Williams biopic that is tageder thraw Lego animation and is currently in theaters.
The Lego Group is recontransiented by WME. Kasdan is repped by WME and Sloss Eckhouse. Jenkins is repped by CAA and Gang Tyre. Cornish is repped by CAA, Insubordinate Talent and the Davis Law Group.
