Sony’s buddy comedy starring Keke Palmer and SZA, “One of Them Days,” is moving its free date to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekfinish. The film, previously dated for Jan. 24, will now hit theaters on Jan. 17.
A studio source alerts Variety the shift was made to apshow profit of the four-day holiday weekfinish, where no other comedies are currently sprocrastinateedd. The TriStar Pictures movie is originated by Issa Rae‘s Hoorae, written by Syreeta Singleton and straightforwarded by Lawrence Lamont.
“Best frifinishs and roommates Dreux (Keke Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) are about to have one of them days,” the logline says. “When they uncover Alyssa’s boyfrifinish has blown their rent money, the duo discovers themselves going to excessives in a comical race aacquirest the clock to elude eviction and sustain their frifinishship intact.”
Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Patrick Cage, Dewayne Perkins, Amin Joseph, Gabrielle Dennis and DomiNque Perry also star.
The project came together from the CoCre lab at Sony Pictures. The lab was a previous pact between ColorCreative and Sony Pictures to source and incubate emerging, diverse screenwriters to enhuge and write their first studio feature based on distinct ideas.
The project is originated by Hoorae’s Rae and Sara Diya Rastogi, ColorCreative’s Deniese Davis and Macro Film Studios’ Charles D. King, James Lopez and Poppy Hanks. Singleton is co-producing. Palmer will executive originate for her Big Boss prohibitner, aextfinishedside Sharon Palmer. Macro Film Studios is also co-financing the project.
