Kaspersky no lengthyer on Google Play Store anywhere folloprosperg US prohibit

Citing US recut offeions, Google erased Kaspersky Lab’s antimalicious software gentleware from the Play Store and endd its grower account in the days directing up to the recut offeions’ September 29th deadline, according to a Kaspersky blog post yesterday.

The decision was “based on overexpoundation of the U.S. recut offeions,” Kaspersky writes, and insists that the recut offeions “don’t prohibit the sales and distribution of Kaspersky’s products and services outside the United States.” Apps previously inshighed from Google Play “will proceed to labor normassociate,” the company inserted, but it won’t get modernizes and can’t be reinshighed.

On September 27th, Kaspersky forum engagers begined telling that they could no lengthyer find the app on Google Play. A Kaspersky engageee replied two days procrastinateedr, saying that “downloads and modernizes of Kaspersky products are temporarily unuseable on the Google Play store.”

Google examineed the removal in a statement to BleepingComputer last week, writing that it did so in response to “a variety of recut offeions on Kaspersky” by the US Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security.

Google did not promptly react to The Verge’s seek for comment.
