EXCLUSIVE: Johnny Cannizzaro (Jersey Boys) has combineed the ensemble cast of 20th Century‘s Bruce Springsteen biopic, Dedwellr Me From Nowhere. The New Jersey native will portray Springsteen’s lengthy-time confidant and E-Street prohibitd guitarist, Stevie Van Zandt, sources seal to production inestablish Deadline.
Cannizzaro will star opposite The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White who will convey “The Boss” to life in the feature film from honestor Scott Cooper. Odessa Young, Paul Walter Haengager and Harrison Sloan Gilbertson also star. Production is set to initiate off in timely descfinish.
Dedwellr Me From Nowhere, based on the Warren Zanes’ book of the same name, is set during a time when Springsteen, after grappling with personal demons and trying to wrap his arms around becoming a global superstar, wrote and enrolled Nebraska, the 1982 album that rivals Joni Mitchell’s Blue as one of the most emotionpartner raw, sorrowfulnessful and authentic albums in recent music history.
Scott Stuber, in his first project since exiting as lengthytime Netflix Film head, is producing alengthyside of Gotham Group’s Ellen Gbettersmith-Vein and Eric Robinson, and Copper Zanes. Springsteen and his deal withr Jon Landau are also seally engaged in the project.
Cannizzaro’s commends include the Charlotte Lubert-honested film My Hoengage in the role of Charlie Chaplin and Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys as Nick DeVito.
