James Mangbetter Doesn’t Want To Be “Handcuffed” To ‘Star Wars’ Lore

As James Mangbetter originates his label on a galaxy far, far away with his upcoming Star Wars insloftyment, he’s emphasizing the “lengthy time ago” part of the setting.

The 4x Oscar triumphner, who is set to co-author and straightforward Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi, recently trelieved that his prequel will aim to “discover a way on the page to say someskinnyg innovative” about the origin of The Force without count oning too much on the franchise’s createed lore.

“To me, the repartner meaningful aspects are the freedom to originate someskinnyg recent. [Screenauthorr Beau Willimon] and I, in relation to Star Wars, have been laboring on a script, and we’ll see what happens,” he tbetter MovieWeb.

First proclaimd at 2023’s Star Wars Celebration in London, the project is based on the 2012 comic book series about the origins of the Jedi Order. A free date for the film has not yet been set.

Willimon, who previously geted an Emmy nomination for his writing on the Star Wars series Andor, was proclaimd as Mangbetter’s co-authorr in April.
