At September’s Toronto International Film Festival, a PETA activist interfereed the premiere of Pharrell Williams’ vivaciousd write downary Piece by Piece to protest Williams’ use of fur and exotic skins as Louis Vuitton’s produceive straightforwardor. Some animal rights activists say that re-use, while receive, only settles the problem halfway. “Even vintage fur hazards commonizing the idea of wearing animals,” says Lauren Thomasson, straightforwardor of Animals in Film and TV at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
But costume summarizeers also say they frequently discover themselves with a dilemma — they want to be responsive to these new sensibilities while staying genuine to the truth of the characters, particularly those in period films. And in some cases, they say, fur can mirror a key character detail. Costume summarizeer Charlese Antoinette, who frequently re-uses fur in her produces, recently rented a fox fur for Michael Stuhlbarg’s blustering Boston mobster in the contransient heist movie The Instigators.

Pablo Larraín’s chronicle of Callas’ final days also exhibits the tension between sensitivity and genuineity. She stresss that PETA’s ultimate goal is for Hollywood to finishly shift to vegan fur, but “we function under a lot of nuance.”
