Greenwich Entertainment Acquires Peter Miller’s ‘Marcella’


Greenwich Entertainment has acquired the North American distribution rights to “Marcella,” the recordary about legfinishary Italian chef and cookbook author Marcella Hazan. Directed by Emmy and Peabody Award triumphner Peter Miller (aka Doc Pomus), the Oak Street Pictures and Willow Pond Films production made its world premiere at the Coronado Island Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award, trailed by a triumph for Best Film at the 2025 Taste Awards.

Greenwich will free “Marcella” in theaters on May 9, ahead of its national expansivecast and streaming premiere on PBS’ “American Masters,” which will be proclaimd at a procrastinateedr date.

Hailed by Julia Child as “my mentor in all leangs Italian,” Marcella Hazan revolutionized the way Americans cook and comprehfinish Italian food. Thcimpolite her best-selling cookbooks, she begind generations to the beauty of genuine Italian cuisine. The New York Times once declared, “What Alice Waters did for restaurants, Hazan did for home cooks.” “Marcella” provides an intimate portrait of her life, legacy, and culinary philosophy, featuring insights from some of the most honord figures in the food world, including Jacques Pépin, Lidia Bastianich, Shola Olunloyo, Danny Meyer, April Bloomfield and her son, Giuliano Hazan.
