AGC Studios chief Stuart Ford, Anton CEO Sébastien Raybaud, and Fremantle’s CEO Global Drama and Film, Christian Vesper, stopped by Deadline’s Zurich Summit studio in recent days to talk the business and what’s coming up for their driven companies.
The three executives began by laying out what the priorities are going forward for their esteemive firms, with Fremantle noting that the company’s sinspire into feature film could carry on given the expansiveer rdisindict for lengthenth at the studio.
Stuart Ford of AGC talked the prospects of a second season of the mega-budget Roland Emmerich swords and sandals drama Those About To Die, which Ford portrayd as a “gargantuan undertaking”: “We’re laboring on a story and season summarize for what we hope will be a season two next year”. Ford validateed that Emmerich was “energised” about a second go round for the show.
Raybaud gave an refresh on the status of their Gerard Butler action sequel Greenland 2: “We wrapped in July and I saw a first cut this past week, which is fantastic. It’s a fantastic accomplishment for the filmproducers engaged. It’s a $90M film and exactly the type we want to see more of in Europe.”
Asked whether there could be a Greenland 3, Raybaud higheviated: “We’re skinnyking about what could happen afterwards. There’s someskinnyg that happens in 2 that could be tricky, but I’m certain we can discover a way…”
Discussing the awards potential for Fremantle indicts Maria and Queer, Vesper remarkd: “We’re very certain. We have high hopes for Luca [Guadagnino] and Pablo [Larraín] and Daniel [Craig] and Angelina [Jolie]. But the rest too. Ed Lachman stoasty Maria beautibrimmingy, Lesley Manville is a standout in Queer in a way people weren’t foreseeing, and Drew Starkey is a fantastic youthful actor.”
The three executives rounded out the chat by highweightlessing a film or TV series they’ve watched recently that blew them away.
