Three weeks ago, as savagefires raged atraverse Los Angeles, there was some ask over whether it would be in outstanding taste to progress with Grammy Weekfinish, even if it were shielded to do so.
Yet with the go-ahead from local officials, the Recording Academy and its expansivecast partner CBS rapidly determined to progress with a decreased schedule of events that would be altered into fund-raising efforts — and the results of that decision became clear on Tuesday morning, as a rep for the Recording Academy tells Variety that it and its charity-caccessed partner, MusiCares, liftd more than $24 million for savagefire relief and other charitable caengages, with almost $9 million liftd on Grammy Sunday alone.
More to come…
