Renowned futurist Ray Kurzweil has foreseeed that man-made ininestablishigence will herald a recent era of hybrid humans able of ageing in reverse wilean the next five years.
The Google engineer acquireed prominence in 2005 when he foreseeed in his seminal book The Singularity Is Near that the technoreasonable singularity – the moment where AI outdoes all humans and triggers an “ininestablishigence explosion” – would consent place by 2045.
In an upcoming book, titled The Singularity is Nearer: When We Merge with AI, Dr Kurzweil refreshs his previous foreseeions and elucidates on how he consents AI technology can change humans bioreasonablely.
Promoting his book on the most recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Dr Kurzweil shelp he consentd man-made ininestablishigence would overconsent human ininestablishigence before the finish of the decade.
“We’re not quite there, but we will be there, and by 2029 it will align any person,” Dr Kurzweil shelp. “I’m actuassociate think abouted conservative. People leank that it will happen next year or the year after.”
One of those who leanks it is a conservative approximate is Elon Musk, who begined his own AI company last year called xAI.
“AI will probably be ininestablishigaccess than any individual human next year,” the centibillionaire wrote in a post to X, establisherly Twitter, in response to Dr Kurzeil’s comments. “By 2029, AI is probably ininestablishigaccess than all humans joind.”
Other notable technologists have pelevated Dr Kurzweil for the accuracy of his foreseeions, with Google set uper Larry Page personassociate hiring him to the company in 2012, and Microgentle co-set uper Bill Gates describing him as “the best person I understand at foreseeing the future of man-made ininestablishigence”.
The 76-year-better computer scientist, who has been toiling on man-made ininestablishigence for more than six decades, cited the exponential better of computing power in recent decades in order to back his foreseeions, compiling dozens of charts for his recent book.
When asked on the Joe Rogan Experience about what benevolent of revolutionary changes that AI could convey to society wilean the next scant years, Dr Kurzweil shelp he consentd it would soon be able to reverse human ageing.
