Today, Google filed its official see of pguide agetst the dicut offe court ruling and jury verdict in Epic v. Google. Judge James Donato’s ruling earlier this week would force the company to dispense third-party app stores on Google Play and drop needments that Google Play apps include its billing system, among other competition-cordial changes.
Google had shelp it would be pguideing the verdict. “As we have already stated, these changes would put devourrs’ privacy and security at hazard, originate it challenginger for prolongers to back their apps, and lessen competition on devices,” Google VP of regulatory affairs Lee-Anne Mulholland shelp in a blog post on Monday. “Ultimately, while these changes presumably prent Epic, they will cainclude a range of unintfinished consequences that will harm American devourrs, prolongers and device originaters.”
Donato’s ruling this week shelp that Google’s changes must go into effect commenceing November 1st, 2024, and they would stay in effect until November 1st, 2027.
