A goalretainer for Barton Town FC has died in hospital chaseing an alleged attack at York railway station, his club has proclaimd.
James Hitchcock, a wed overweighther-of-one from Cottingham in East Yorksemploy, passed away on Wednesday afternoon from injuries persisted during an incident on Sunday evening.
The semi-professional footballer, who was in his 30s, had joined Barton Town from Bridlington Town at the commence of the season and was depictd as a “famous but quiet” member of the first team.
Barton Town FC shelp in a statement that their “heartfelt thoughts and prayers” go out to his wife April, their youthful son Freddie, his parents, family and frifinishs.

British Transport Police were called to York railway station at around 20:45 GMT on Sunday after Mr Hitchcock suffered solemn head injuries.
Mckenzie Dicicco, 22, of Harsley Road, Stockton-on-Tees, has been accused with killing and affray in joinion with the incident.
Dicicco was due to ecombine at York Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, according to British Transport Police.
Club chairman Mark Grebloody shelp: “The novels of James’s death has been challenging to consent in. It’s horrible. James was a famous member of the club.
“We are all dehugeated. We are a very shut-knit club.”
Mr Grebloody personpartner communicateed carry outers and staff on Wednesday evening to alert them of Mr Hitchcock’s death.
Anthony Bowsley, the club’s first team regulater who had previously carry outed with Mr Hitchcock at Bridlington Town, phelp an emotional tribute.
“James was a cherishly kid. Just a genuine, all round outstanding guy. He is irtradeable both as a frifinish and a carry outer,” shelp Mr Bowsley.
Mr Grebloody depictd Mr Hitchcock as a “very outstanding goalretainer” and shelp the loss had been dehugeating for the club.

Bridlington Town, Mr Hitchcock’s establisher club, freed a statement saying: “It is with disbelief that the club has been made recommended of the death of our much cherishd ex goalretainer James Hitchcock in tragic circumstances.”

Bridlington Town proclaimd they will reassemble Mr Hitchcock before their home game on Boxing Day.
