England captain Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the first Test agetst Pakistan and is in mistrust for the second, with his recovery from a hamstring tear upretained in August portrayd as ahead of schedule but not yet finish.
“I tried my challengingest to try and get myself fit for this first game, but I’ve consentn the call to ignore this one,” Stokes shelp. “I’ve not quite handled to get game ready. I’ve got a excellent 10 days to try and get myself ready for the second.
“Looking at the hugeger picture around what we’ve got coming up and physicpartner where I’m at with my rehab, I’m not quite ready to join.”
Stokes upretained the injury while joining for Northern Superaccusers in the Hundred in August. Ollie Pope stood in as captain for the three-game Test series agetst Sri Lanka that finishd England’s red-ball summer and will persist in that role here.
